Built for the devoted freerider, the new Free Shell 2.0 is a specialist hard core program designed for winter exposure: big lines, big airs, epic powder days and the search for backcountry adventures — in any weather conditions. These bib pants have an oversized fit for maximised freedom of movement, large ventilation zippers for fast temperature adjustment, a stretchable and breathable bib, drop-seat construction for easy bathroom access and technical details designed to excel in mountain terrain.

When we launched its predecessor a few years back it was an instant hit with the freeriding community and basically sold out within weeks. Then Covid struck and production was delayed, so we took the opportunity to update the Free Shell program down to the very last detail: a completely new fabric, significant technical upgrades, an adjusted oversized fit, and improvements based on the feedback from users all over the world — all while adhering to high environmental standards.

The newly developed 3-layer shell it is built from a new 100% pre-consumer recycled Japanese nylon fabric, paired with the unrivalled Dermizax™ NX technology from Toray. It offers increased durability while maintaining the exceptional waterproofness, extraordinary breathability and low weight that professional riders demand. You will have a hard time finding any shell material that can compete with its performance.

The new YKK AquaGuard® 2-way ventilation zippers are slightly enlarged, and all zippers are stitched for improved durability. Pockets are oversized, providing plenty of room for pocket bacon, latschenkiefersalbe and other go-to gear. A welcome improvement is the drop-seat construction making it a (presumably cold) breeze to pee in the pow. The fit is slightly updated for for unrestricted freedom of movement and enhanced performance.

A striking monochrome styling offsets its boundary-pushing performance, keeping it current for years and making it easy to combine with other Free System signature colors.

Garment fit: Free system has an oversized fit. If you prefer a more regular fit, we suggest ordering one size smaller.

Zippers: YKK zippers. YKK Aquaguard™ technology used on all exposed zippers. Two-way zippers at ventilation.

Ventilation: Zipped ventilation along outside of legs with drop seat function. Press buttons along zippers to regulate ventilation airflow.

Waist: Waist with Stellar Closure System, belt loops and buttons. Zipped bib in lightweight stretch fabric. Adjustable suspenders in elastic webbing.

Wash & Care

Fine wash the garments in cold water, maximum 30°C, by itself or with other garments in similar colors. Make sure to close all pockets and the front zipper. Do not use fabric softener.
After wash, tumble dry or iron the jacket on low temperature to re-activate water-repellency.
