Last winter, a group of friends made the first descent of a 450 vertical meter couloir, and they named it Republiken. It’s located in the valley of Storådörren, close to our headquarters in Åre, Sweden. A local tip and the abnormal amounts of snow that fell last year made it possible. With no snow in the forecast, we chased wind waves around Kallsjön instead. Swedish surfer, Tim Latte, took the 7 hours drive from the capital and joined in on what could have been the best session we ever had on the lake.
