Dear Stellar family,
We’re a mountain community — built in Scandinavia, spread across the world. From the Alps to Colorado to Hokkaido, you’re part of it.
Our gear is made from the best materials we can find:Japanese weaves, American down, Uruguayan wool, Italian fabrics. Some pieces are made in Europe. Some in Vietnam. Some in Japanese-owned specialist factories in China.
And that’s why I’m writing.
There’s a lot of noise about manufacturing in China. Here’s the reality: the best technical outdoor factories in the world are there. Not because it’s cheap — but because nobody else can match the craftsmanship, precision, and skill. It’s the same reason many of the world’s most respected outdoor brands work with them.
Why it’s that way is a longer story. But here’s the short one:
We have a small but growing community in the US. We love North American ski culture. We visited our California ambassadors this February — and it felt like home.
Now, new tariffs mean we’re facing hard choices: in the near future, we might have to raise prices significantly — or pause US shipments.
Some will be fine with that — and there are great US-made alternatives. We respect that. To each their own.
But if you believe in what we’re building, we wanted you to hear it straight from us.
The Mountains Are Yours.

⚠️ HOW US TARIFFS AFFECTS YOU
Now until April 28
You can still order free of duties from Stellar – up to a value of $800 USD per order.
This is thanks to the ‘de minimis’ threshold, which allows shipments under $800 to enter duty-free.
After April 28
Unless something changes, this threshold disappears.
We may have no choice but to pause US shipments until we find a sustainable solution or the rules shift.
