The Stellar Down Parka is a new high-performance stand-alone down parka with outstanding insulation capabilities. It is filled with generous amounts of 800 fill-power premium down, offering an outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio, and wrapped in a Japanese lightweight DWR-treated ripstop nylon fabric providing added insulation, premium weather resistance and top layer durability. Besides being one of the warmest and lightest down parkas on the market, the new Stellar Down Parka also has a class-leading range of technical features making it stand out from the competition.

Note: The parka will be extremely compressed on delivery. It will need 48 hours minimum to regain its shape and to loft completely after shipping.

    The Stellar Down Parka is a high-volume low-weight down parka with outstanding insulation capabilities, built for extremely cold conditions. Designed as a stand-alone top layer, with a weather resistant shell fabric and technical details optimized for alpine activities, it can also be used as a packable emergency layer to be worn at the summit, at the belay, or in the bivouac.

    The numbers speak for themselves: Filled with 260g/9.2oz of 800FP down and with a total weight of 669g/23.6oz in size medium, the Stellar Down Parka has one of the highest warmth-to-weight ratios in its class. It will outperform most comparable alternatives available on the market.

    But numbers are not everything — down insulation is equal parts science and passion to us. Leaning on years of experience and implementing our reductive design philosophy, the Stellar Down Parka is meticulously designed for outdoor extremes through the use of exceptional materials and carefully considered technical details.

    It is filled with premium 800 fill power HyperDRY™ European down that is PFC-free, RDS-certified, bluesign®-certified, allergen-free, 100% recyclable and completely source track verifiable. The down is hydrophobic, maintaining much of its amazing insulation capabilities even when wet.

    The shell material is a Japanese ultralight DWR-treated 53g/1.86oz ripstop nylon that is water-resistant, wind resistant, stretchable and very durable for its weight. It will hold off the wind and the wet for extended periods. Despite a comparably robust appearance, the parka can be compressed into a small package, and stuffed in the accompanying packing bag.

    The oversized hood will fit over most alpine helmets, and paired with the tall collar it can easily be adjusted to keep the cold out. The large fleece-lined hand pockets provides plenty of room for your gear, and the large chest pockets are easily accessed when using alpine equipment. There is also one zippered inner pocket and one inner mesh pocket. It is equipped with our signature stretchable interior cuff, for ease of use and increased weather resistance. It has a regular fit with an extended back-piece. If you plan to wear it over a shell layer, consider sizing up.

  • Insulation:  800 FP duck down from Allied Feathers. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, bluesign®-certified, allergen-free, 100% recyclable and completely source track verifiable.

    Main fabric: 100 % nylon. 53 g/m2. 20 Denier. Made in China.

    Lining fabric: 100 % rip-stop nylon. 34 g/m2. 10 x 20 Denier. Made in Japan.

    Waterproofness: DWR-treated main fabric. HyperDRY™ (PCF-free DWR-treated) down.

    Breathability: Low. This is not a garment for high-pulse activities. The extremely lightweight main fabric is very tightly woven to not let out any down through the fibers. This leads to poor breathability but excellent insulation.

    Down fill weight: S 243 g, M 260 g, L 275 g, XL 294 g, XXL 313 g.

    Garment weight: S 635,7 g, M 668,9 g, L 705,8 g, XL 736,3 g, XXL 771,6 g.

    Fit: Regular fit.

    Center back length: S 77,5 cm, M 79,5 cm, L 82 cm, XL 84,5 cm, XXL 87 cm.

    Hood/ collar: Fixed hood. Opening adjustable with elastic cord on the inside. Helmet compatible. Extra high collar. Inner center front zipper placket insulated and with rips tape preventing the zipper from getting caught in the fabric when opening and closing the parka.

    Pockets: Two vertical large zipped chest pockets. Two zipped fleece lined hand pockets. One zipped inner pocket. One open mesh inner pocket.

    Zippers: All YKK zippers. Center front zip is 2-way open end.

    Ventilation: No ventilation.

    Sleeves and cuffs: Pre-bent sleeves. Internal elastic cuffs, same as on Guide Expedition Down Parka. Internal hand wrist warmer in elastic fabric.

    Bottom hem: Bottom hem adjustable with elastic drawstring and internal cord locks at sides

    Snow gaiter: No snow gaiter.

    RECCO: No RECCO reflector.

    Other: Stow bag included.

    You pay what you see. All duties and VAT are included in the total price for your order at checkout.

  • Hand wash or cold water wash. Do not use fabric softener.

    After wash, tumble dry the garment on low temperature until the garment is dry. Make sure to close all pockets and zippers. Place a couple of tennis balls in the dryer – this will help the down distributing evenly within the down clusters.
