Next-generation insulation technology.Using next-generation synthetic isolation technology, the Guide Aerogel Hybrid System features the highest insulation-to-weight properties known to man using fibres from a material so incredibly light it is sometimes referred to as ‘frozen smoke’. We combined this cutting-edge synthetic insulation with a comfortable and stretchable merino-wool blended fleece for a uniquely warm, comfortable and technical mid-layer vest.
Why we made it
- Featuring the lightest solid material known to man.
- An innovative combination of Aerogel insulation and merino-wool fleece.
- Will retain its amazing insulating capability even when compressed.
The Guide Aerogel Hybrid System is lightweight, comfortable, breathable and surprisingly warm for its weight. It has an athletic fit that provides excellent freedom of movement. The DWR-treated shell fabric is wind and water resistant. Use it as a mid-layer during winter for ski-touring or alpinism, or as a stand-alone garment for low-pulse activities in the summertime like climbing or hiking.
This hybrid mid layer is the worlds first using Aerogel technology. Combining merino wool fleece panels with silica aerogel insulation panels and a DWR-treated ultralight shell fabric, it provides a unique combination of weather protection, breathable comfort, lightweight insulation and freedom of movement. Aerogel will retain its amazing insulating capability even when compressed.
Aerogel is composed of more than 95% air, making it the lightest solid substance, with the lowest thermal conductivity, known to man.
This innovative technology by Primaloft is called Cross Core™, incorporating silica aerogel in insulation fibres for the first time.
Merino wool fleece blend that is incredibly soft, warm and stretchable, effectively transporting moisture away from your body.
